WhatsApp launched document sharing feature

WhatsApp has added the document sharing feature, which allows users to send and receive documents files via whatsapp.

The document sharing feature of WhatsApp allows users to only share PDF files (for now). This means that there is no support for .doc, .xls and other commonly used file formats; there is no official release on when the company will start supporting the those documents extension.
This update is however, l not been released to all Android users via Google Play but for users having the latest version of the app. Those who are yet to receive the document sharing feature can click this link and download the install file directly from the official website.

NOTE: Bear in mind, the feature only works when you and the recipient of the document both are using the updated version of WhatsApp.

How to Share a Document on WhatsApp
For Android phones: 

*Launch WhatsApp.
*Tap on an ongoing conversation in the Chats tab to open an existing thread.
*To top left of your chat screen there's a paperclip icon. Click on it.You'll see 6 icons, click on the first one titled "Document" (purle)
If the recipient has not yet updated their WhatsApp version , a message will come up If the recipient has upgraded you'll be presented with a list of PDF documents on your mobile device to select from.
*Select one by tapping on it, then press send.

For Apple phones: 

*Launch WhatsApp
*Tap on an ongoing conversation in the Chats tab to open an existing thread.
*To bottom right of your chat screen there's an arrow in a circle icon. Click on it.
*You'll see 5 options, click on "Share Document".
If the recipient has not yet updated their WhatsApp version , a message will come up.
If the recipient has upgraded you'll be presented with a list of PDF documents on your mobile device to select from
*Select one by tapping on it, then press send.
